We are affiliated with Memorial Northpark for Gynecological care and Erlanger Downtown for Gynecological and Obstetrical care.
What is a Pap Smear?
A Pap Smear is a test included in your annual exam where loose cells are collected from the cervix. These cells are reviewed for abnormalities that could be concerning for pre-cancerous or cancerous changes.
Pap smears are not the same as a Well-woman examination. It is a test for your cervix. All women should see their Gynecologists annually to address all female concerns.
As a new patient, what will I need for my first appointment?
Please fill out our new patient forms available online and bring them with you to your appointment. To minimize your wait time, we recommend arriving 15 minutes early so that all of your paperwork and insurance information can be handled before your appointment time.
What is evaluated during my Well-woman examination?
Depending on your age or healthcare needs, your evaluation could include a simple physical exam to an evaluation of intimate infections, cholesterol, to hormones.
When should I get my first Pap Smear?
The recommended age is 21 and every 3 years following. They may be needed as well if there are any signs of concern.
